Training Services

As well as offering consultancy and design services, HADA can provide a range of continuing professional development (CPD) courses. As a result of her design and disability training, Helen understands how to implement changes to meet the needs of disabled people while balancing out factors such as legislation, within financial and construction constraints.

Helen has delivered training to architects on behalf of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), developers, local authorities, facility managers, service providers, product manufacturers and organisations of and for disabled people.

HADA's training programme covers general design issues relating to disability awareness, access and the Disability Discrimination Act as well as specific technical courses such as accessible signage. All courses are tailored to meet the individual needs and interests of an organisation.

Courses include:

Access in the Pedestrian Environment

Introduction to access in the urban and rural environment including signage, tactile surfaces, public artwork and how to apply them to assist way-finding for disabled people.

Access Awareness

Introduction to design, disability, legislation and the key factors relating to the provision of accessible buildings.

Access Auditing and Consultancy Skills

Introduction to the basics of access auditing and access statements.

Signage and Way-finding

Inclusive Product Development
